Underwater and on vacation

One of my goals that has proved to be a challenge this year is underwater photography. Between Florida and local shoots I haven't found water still or clear enough to get the crisp pictures that I envisioned. We might have another beach trip coming up this year (more on that in the next few months) but until then I took a few quick shots at the aquarium.

and three more just because I giggle every time I see them. I love any and all types of pictures, even if they're terribly cheesy, so while on vacation our family decided to try and old school photo shop. Look at this child, I'm in trouble when she's 16!

Who doesn't love kids with guns? NOT my idea by the way, I cringed when they gave those to my babies. lol

Hope everyone had a great weekend!

Family Life Project (continued)

Remember the family that I'm photographing for this year's project? I've had so much fun following them around and watching the kiddos grow. The new twins are 3 months old already!

I love gummy grins. More to come soon!

Franklin, TN Newborn Photography

Baby C is such an angelic little bundle. Well, little might not be the correct term (he was a 10 pound babe at birth!) but I love baby rolls. Adorable!

I photographed big sister's newborn session years ago...how fast time flies by. Sweet little H isn't a baby anymore!

Angela & Chris, thanks for inviting me into your home! Cheers!

Monteagle, TN Engagement Session

Elizabeth and Jason chose to shoot part of their engagement session in Monteagle, where they had their first date. Which, by the way, is one of the cutest first dates that I've ever heard of....fishing! Afterward we wandered around Sewanee and E & J were troopers to explore with me in the heat. Ahhhhh southern summers.

Vacation vacation vacation!

In a few days the fam and I are headed on vacation (not too far from home) for some much needed relaxation. My phone and I are in a battle of wills so if you haven't received a response from your voicemail, I'd love to hear from you again or send me an email. Hopefully in the next few days I'll be caught up with communications so we can spend the vaca time playing with the kidletts and NOT working!

And because I hate posting without an image...here's a few from a wedding last month when I had the pleasure of 2nd shooting with Gregory Byerline. Working with their fantastic team was such a great time. Thanks for having me along guys! If you haven't seen Gregory's work before, go check out the link. I was blown away by his images straight from the camera....perfection. And speaking of relaxation, it's such an calming experience to 2nd shoot!

Studio 5 wedding photography - Lindsey & Rob

Lindsey & Rob were married this past week at Carnton Plantation in Franklin, TN. If you've never been before, it's a fascinating stop in a beautiful historic city. A big thanks goes out to Amy, Lindsey's cousin that referred the couple to me. I had so much fun with these two!

And now that the big day is over I can show some images from Lindsey's bridal session...which we shot just a few days before the wedding!

Murfreesboro Maternity and Newborn Photography

More blog posts to come today...here's a few images from recent sessions! Sweet baby P, she slept through most of our session. Isn't she precious?

I snuck a few images of big sister as well

and later that weekend Stephanie braved the heat for her maternity session. Although I can't believe how tiny she was for being soooo close to her due date!

New Orleans destination wedding

Randy and I met Ashley & Tony last September when we were out in Montana for a wedding. When it came time to plan their wedding they decided to fly us out to shoot and officiate their small destination wedding. Where do a boy from South Africa and a girl from Chicago get married...home of the never-ending celebration, New Orleans of course! Tony proposed to Ashley a few months ago at Antoine's and the couple wanted to have a small ceremony and reception in the area where they got engaged. Wandering a city + wedding couple = visual scavenger hunt. We had such a great time!

Nothing says The Big Easy like a first dance by a N.O. style jazz band. They played a fantastic version of "You Are My Sunshine" and dedicated the song to the new Mr. & Mrs. =)

Best.cake.ever

Congrats Ashley & Tony! Have a blast on your safari honeymoon!
